Policy Development

Creating policy is always difficult. When writing or changing a policy, there is one absolute certainty: every solution to a problem creates its own set of problems. For that reason, policies must be carefully assessed for all their consequences, both intended and not. Having been involved in policy development both at the board and executive level, Macek has the background to analyze and anticipate consequences of a policy, both intended and unintended.

It’s virtually impossible to create flawless policy, but it is possible to create policy with eyes wide open to the potential impact of a policy. When policies are developed that consider the full ripple effect created by that change, the manager can proceed with greater confidence.

Using a third ear to think through the implications of a policy, before it is implemented, will better assure that the policy meets its intended purpose.
